Students

Admission Process


Admission process normally starts from the month of March every year by way of announcing in leading news papers of Oman. Application form along with admission brochure can be obtained from the Registrar, WCAS by paying RO 25.000. The admission form can be submitted on or before the last date for submission of completed application form even if the result of secondary / senior secondary level is not declared. Eligibility Criteria


The primary passing criteria, apart from the eligibility based on senior secondary performance as stated in the admission process, for direct admission to any of the degree programs is to obtain IELTS band above 6 in English evaluation test. Any applicant getting below 6 and above 3 band will be offered foundation program in the respective degree programs. Applicants getting below 3 will normally not be admitted. Applicants getting between 3 and 5 will be admitted in level 1 of foundation year where as those getting between 5 and 6 will be admitted in level 2 of foundation year.


For BE Programs


Student having minimum 50% marks in aggregate at the senior secondary level exams with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible to apply for admission. The firm admission to the degree program will be granted only after and on the basis of the entrance evaluation test conducted by WCAS in Muscat or CBSE-AIEEE or SAT or equivalent qualifying examination scores. Students who do not qualify in the entrance evaluation test for the direct admission to the degree program will be given an option (subject to their performance in entrance evaluation test) to undergo one year foundation program.


For BCA


Student having minimum 50% marks in aggregate at the senior secondary level exams with Computer Science / Information Practice / Mathematics / Business Mathematics / IT are eligible to apply for admission. The firm admission to the degree program will be granted only after and on the basis of the entrance evaluation test conducted by WCAS in Muscat. Students who do not qualify in the entrance evaluation test for the direct admission to the degree program will be given an option (subject to their performance in entrance evaluation test) to undergo one year foundation program.


For BBA (Regular & Part Time)


Student having minimum 50% marks in aggregate at the senior secondary level exams is eligible to apply for admission. The firm admission to the degree program will be granted only after and on the basis of the entrance evaluation test conducted by WCAS in Muscat. Students who do not qualify in the entrance evaluation test for the direct admission to the degree program will be given an option (subject to their performance in entrance evaluation test) to undergo one year foundation program.

If more number of eligible applicants, than the capacity of degree program, qualify the entrance evaluation test then the admission will be based on the merit of the entrance evaluation test marks.

Those applicants who will fulfill the above criteria will be given firm admission and will be asked to deposit first semester tuition fees along with caution deposit within seven days of declaration of the admission list. Few students will be kept in waiting list who will be given admission if the firm admission applicants do not deposit the fees by the announced date without permission.
